In addition to patient care, teaching and hospital responsibilities, Dr. Shoupe conducts numerous research studies. Her professional activities also include serving as a consultant to several pharmaceutical firms and to a number of leading medical journals. She completed her MBA in 2002.

Her major areas of interest are: Pathophysiology and treatment of the menopause, cardiovascular disease, osteoporosis, androgen replacement, contraceptive technology, menstrual cycle regulation and anovulation. She has authored numerous scientific papers and chapters in books, in addition to presenting her research work at national and international meetings.
