Dr. Israel has accomplished many professional and personal goals; past president of both the Pacific Coast Reproductive Society (1979) and the Pacific Coast Ob/Gyn Society (2002), director of the gynecology division for many years, and the director of the required, year 3 Ob/Gyn student clerkship for 25 years.  Additionally, he has completed 10 of 10 marathons, still jogging 6 miles, 3-4x/week, and is on the board of directors of A Noise Within, a nationally renowned classical theatrical repertory company.
